The first President was Barry Allan, with Frank Baird as Secretary.  Others at the inaugural meeting included Harvey Smith, Terry Maher, Terry Marshall, Robert Farrell, Ian Wallace and John Trist.  Membership fees were set at one pound, ($2.00), and under seventeen years old at ten shillings, ($1.00).

Prior to the Club building its Autocross circuit on the present location at Old Racecourse Road in 1972, many events were  held on Nisbets Reserve some ten kilometres from Deniliquin on the Conargo road.

In the years since its formation the Club has conducted scavenger hunts, motorkhanas, car trials, auto

crosses, 1/4 mile sprints, economy runs and sprint meetings at Winton.   For many years the Club was involved with the multi-club C.V.I.C.A. series, with many members competing and receiving trophies for their efforts.

Club members have competed in many classes and levels of motor sport up to and including State and National Championships with Peter Yates winning his class in the Victorian Motor Racing Championship and Graeme Holmes winning the Sportsman Clas of the Australian Formula Two Series.
